Angelina's Jambalaya Recipe
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons oil (olive or neutral vegetable oil)
200g chicken breast, sliced (or 450g plant-based for a meat-free option)
200g sausage, sliced (or 450g plant-based for a meat-free option)
2 tablespoons Angelina’s Creole Sauce of the 100g (plus more for finishing)
500ml water
1 packet of Angelina’s Jambalaya Mix
1 bell pepper, chopped (optional)
1 cup onion, chopped (optional)
2 cloves garlic, minced(optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley and green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Serves: 4 - 6 people
Instructions:
Sauté the Meat:
Heat 2 tbsp of oil, Add the sliced chicken and sausage (or plant-based) cook until browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. Stir in 2 tablespoons of Angelina’s Creole Sauce as you cook to enhance the flavour.
Sauté (Optional but good):
Remove and set aside chicken and sausage from the pot (or plant based). Then add the chopped bell pepper, onion, and minced garlic to pot and sauté vegetables until soft.
Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
Combine Ingredients:
Add the fully cooked meat (or plant-based) back to the pot with the vegetables, add 500ml of water and the entire packet of Angelina’s Jambalaya Mix to the pot. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
Bring to a Boil:
Increase the heat to high and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
Simmer Until Tender:
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and let it simmer for approximately 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Finish with More Creole Sauce:
After the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked, stir in more Angelina’s Creole Sauce to taste for extra flavour.
Serve Hot: Serve the jambalaya hot, garnished to your taste with fresh parsley and green onions. Enjoy your flavourful dish!
